An Instrument for the Sonification of Everday Things ist eine Installation, welche alltägliche Objekte zum klingen bringt. Dabei nutzt Dennis P. Paul Einen Entfernungsmesser und eine selbstdrehende Haltevorrichtung. In diese wird ein Gegenstand eingespannt und erzeugt in der folge durch seine Form einen Ton. Dieser variiert je nach gewählter Geschwindigkeit und Komplexität. "A variety of everyday objects can be mounted into the instrument. Their silhouettes define loops, melodies and rhythms. Thus mundane things are reinterpreted as musical notation. Playing the instrument is a mixture of practice, anticipation, and serendipity."
