1. Intro
Do you know the feeling? You are tired, you want to sleep, but your head is full of lurking thoughts that you cannot let go of.
2. [A] Object
There are different meditative concepts like Yoga or Zen. They contain usually repetitive relaxing exercises which shall help the mind focus on the body and let go of bothersome thoughts. It is also known that small objects which are held in your hand and are moved continously can have a calming effect on the brain (chinese zen balls, stressball).
Imagine that you have a small, soft object in your hand while you are falling asleep. You can continously push, bend and turn it around. Your attention is turned to your body. You start to let go of your thoughts and you get tired. Your movements slow down and at last you fall asleep.
3. [B] Lighting
Many people read before the go to sleep as the skipping through written words has a calming effect on the brain. There are different experiments and products as well which help people to fall asleep using changing lighting moods.
We offer a lighting mood which, depending on your movements performed on the object in your hand, projects different interactive patterns into the bedroom. By looking at those patterns your thoughts are focused on the moment. The continous movement of the patterns make your eyes tired and help you fall asleep.
4. [C] Sound
A central element of the calming effects is sound. It is proven that specific sound ambiances relax the mind. Also in meditation, sounds play an important role in centering the mind and focus on the body (Yoga, monk, rituals).
Our sound supports the meditative processes of the object and the lighting. It represents the third layer that helps you drift off. Sound is very important in the final stage when your eyes are already closed and you have stopped interacting with the object in your hand. It is the sound’s role to accompany you into sleep.
5. Synchronization [A > B] & [A > C]
It is important that your interaction with the small object affects lighting and sound. By using the object we can estimate (calculate) your situation and create the best lighting and sound situation in order to relax you and help you drift off to sleep. The mood in the bedroom is dynamic and therefore never the same.
We wish you a good night’s sleep.
