Concept Video

In our first step, we broadly define our area of interest. This video started as a collaboration between Dominik Stucky, Patrick Pandolfo an me. By using and combining innovative or established technology with responsive, active materials in a new context, we explore novel forms of responsive environments for work and play. The broad idea is to visualize what is happening in some way the inside of a building like the Toni Areal where all different kinds of activities are of different courses take place. We would like to project a sense of anticipation of the building, helping students for example find their place of needs as for collaboration in work or play. Orte des Informellen is a “place between” -where spaces in the new Toni Areal can be dynamically used for different purposes. The idea is to make the use of the space the more flexible as possible as well as to encourage informal collaboration between different kinds of disciplines. We saw that our ideas of projecting this information were differentiating: While I was more interested in a physical, hardware implementation, Patrick and Dominik were more drawn to a more software solution.
