Interview session following the user-centered observation excercises in the previous video. Christian Lange talks about his experiences, using different interfaces and navigating in Virtual Tours. This was tested using Google Street View and a web based virtual tour by Ghosts in Armour (www.ghostsinarmour.com/popup01.html) These are the the key parts of Interview from which insights can be deducted. These insights will be shown below the video once updated. The insights gathered from this excercise & interview:- navigation links and functions need to easily comprehensible (-> icons, instructions, intuitivity)
- distortion in panoramic views are perceived negativelly
- moving the viewport with a mouse needs to be intuitive (inverted axis)
- geographical navigation options should be clearly labeled with directional hints (eg street signage)
- navigation by map is preferred and viewpoints should be labeled and selectable
- a constantly visible map is a reassurance and helps orientation
- in a multi-user immersive environment shared interaction could be interesting
- loss of orientation is perceived worse in immersive environments
