1. Title of the Project - Melting stone my two keywords
To start with a material and a fabrication method, we had a morphologic box. I choose stone as material and melting as fabrication method. I decided to dive into the topic lava because this was my first thought to melting stone. I start my research first about art which is made out of stone, stone petrifications, about the melting point of different stones, tectonic plates, vulcanos and floating magma.

2. Computational Designs
We started to meet Rhino, which I like a lot. We did different exercises and kept the topics in mind.

3. Ideas and Main Concept
I want to use the properties of lava stones. It contains heat that gives many possibilities.
My first Idea (first picture) was to use it as grill-stone alternative. After the research I found out that this is very healthy to use but it exists already.
Second Idea (second picture) is to use lava sand in heat pillows, or in a slightly other form we could use it inside in the bath cause its fine in the water, easy to lift, reusable and it would save energy and be very comfortable.
Third idea (third picture) was to go in the topic ice bear hair cause they are a bit like pipes which are containing heat also.

I didn't really want to drift away so far, so I went back to the properties of the lava stone and continued to look for THE Idea there.
I did an experiment. Here some screenshot of the movie of the experiment. I builded my own vulcano which were made of vinegar and backing powder.

And as Verena said, we should think as we are the material I did another research but this time I focus on the behavior from the lava stone and the floating magma.

As I developed my Idea of collecting sound waves with a lavastonestructure I found it a nice though to combine it with the self similarity and the deepness on the surface of the fractal system. Its going to be hard to build it but it will be very effective. Is started talks with an expert.

4. Modelling and Fabrication process
I decided that the sirpinski triangle is probably the best self similar shape to do this sound wave collecting wand panels. I printed out a cube with this system and than the triangle.

Thats how it was supposed to look:

I worked also with processing to really understand the happening in those structures.

I printed out 16 of those triangles as my model. To give enough stability I had to add plexiglas in the middle, as shown in the model.
